1. Keep it simple

The first and the most important design tip for non-designers and beginners is to keep it simple. There is nothing worse than a confusing and overwhelming design. Tap into your inner minimalist to keep things simple. Use minimal text and fonts, control colors, and balance graphics. The secret to good design is to avoid cramming your design with as many graphics and elements as possible. It strikes a good balance between aesthetics and communicating your message clearly and effectively.

2. Whitespace is powerful and worthy of respecting the spacing of other elements

Use letter spacing to fill empty spaces and text, or compress words that take up too much space. However, be careful not to make the letter spacing so tight that it becomes unreadable, or so large that the letters are separated. Here, the word "respect" is closely spaced, giving it a condensed effect as a visual representation of space.

3. Save time with social media templates.

Social media is one of those media where you need to create graphics on an ongoing and regular basis. There's no better way to save time than using pre-made templates. A social media manager needs to serve different channels at different scales. Fortunately, there are templates for all channels and all sizes.

4. Switch styles

Having a style is great for painters and musicians, but it's a hindrance for designers. A graphic designer’s work is different from art. Because they have to adapt style to the needs of the project and its audience. This is very difficult because they are asked to consciously ignore their own preferences in order to do the right thing. But it pays off. Switch styles often and learn how to design for your project, not your taste.

5. Keep the design simple

Keep it simple, but don't forget the basics. Make sure each element has a reason for being in the design, and minimize the number of fonts, colors, shapes, and frames. Use high-contrast color combinations to make text crisp and legible. Applying a solid frame containing copies enhances the compositional structure of the design.

6. Keep your work Original

Develop your creative and graphic design skills to create original graphics. Get creative and experiment, choosing and combining different fonts and filters. Avoid trends and create designs that reflect your unique style and put your personal stamp on your work.

7. Do research before you start designing

Have all the necessary details ready before you start writing or creating. Explore, read, research, and use resources. Whether material versus object, information versus fact, the research process ensures thoughtful results.

8. Know the measurements you need before designing the project

Don't start a project without knowing exactly what size you need. You can resize it later, but everything should be resized to fit the new size. For example, if you need to create a presentation, don't start with a vertical infographic size. Similarly, if you're creating a series of Instagram posts, make sure they're square, landscape, or portrait in optimal size.

9. Do the trials and find the errors

Everyone makes mistakes, but sometimes they are the most important part of the learning experience. Design is all about trial and error. The creative process is often endless, so push your designs to the limit.

10. Organizing your design

It is just as important as choosing the right fonts and colors. Having all your assets at your fingertips saves time and lets you focus more on your creativity. If you need to incorporate images, icons, or visuals into your design tools, make sure: Name the file for easy recognition Create the project's main folder If possible, create subfolders containing asset types.
