Anatomy and physiology are biological disciplines that study the human body and how internal mechanisms function. Because the fields of study tend to overlap, they are generally partnered together. One technique to obtain a better grasp of anatomy and physiology is to conduct experiments. There are a plethora of anatomy and physiology project ideas available for school or employment.
 

 

1. Cardiovascular Experiments

The cardiovascular system is a common experimental topic. This section is about the heart and blood. Blood pressure and heart rate monitoring can be expanded into a variety of different experiments. It's simple to test disparities in heart rate and blood pressure across gender, age, and height. You can even go more specific by comparing the heart rates of athletes versus non-athletes, or by examining the effects of caffeine on heart rate and blood pressure.

2. Vision Experiments

Because the eye is such a complicated organ, there are numerous experiments that can be performed to learn more about how it functions. You could, for example, conduct an experiment to determine the blind spot. A blind spot is a region of eyesight in which items are impossible to see. You can use various photos spaced apart behind and to the side of a person's head to test their blind spot, or you can move an image around to discover exactly where the person's blind spot is.
 
You can also put after imaging to the test in the eye. When you watch an image for a given amount of time and then look away from it, an afterimage appears on a wall or other surface. After imaging, you can test in a variety of methods. One method is to stare at a coloured piece of paper for varying amounts of time before looking away and recording how long it takes for the afterimage to vanish with a timer. You can also use different shapes and photos to test the size, shape, and colour of the afterimage.
 

3. Lungs Experiments

The capacity and functionality of the lungs can be assessed. The amount of air that the lungs can hold is referred to as lung capacity. An airball metre is commonly used to check this. The subjects inhale deeply and blow into the metre, which measures how far they can push the ball with their exhalation. You can also compare lung capacity between men and women, different heights and ages, athletes and non-athletes, and musicians and non-musicians. If you can't find an airball metre, a balloon or water displacement can be used to build your own lung capacity tester.
 

4. Hair Experiments

Human hair testing is also an important aspect of anatomy and physiology. Hair can be used to assess the strength and composition of materials. Hair colouring testing can reveal how well hair can withstand particular chemicals. Experiment with hair elasticity before and after dyeing, or see how the amount of time hair is soaked in dye influences elasticity and strength. It's also possible to see how directly putting protein to hair affects the hair. Hair is made up of protein, thus a topical injection of protein could help to strengthen it.
