RRB Junior Translator Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Only Indian citizens can apply for RRB Junior Translator Exam.

RRB Junior Translator Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

Candidates between 18 to 33 years of age limit are eligible to apply for RRB Junior Translator Exam. There is relaxation in upper age limit provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories. The details are as follows:

Ex-Servicemen candidates who have put in more than 6 months of service after attestation UR 33 Years + Number of years of service rendered in Defense and 3 years
OBC (Non-Creamy layer) 36 Years Plus total service rendered in Defense plus 3 years
SC/ST 38 Years, plus total of years of service rendered in Defense plus 3 years
PwBD UR 10 Years
OBC (Non-Creamy layer) 13 Years
SC/ST 15 Years
Candidates have ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 UR 38 Years
OBC (Non-Creamy layer) 41 Years
SC/ST 43 Years
Candidates functional in Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' Railway Staff, Casual Labour and Substitutes, with a minimum of 3 years service UR 43 Years
OBC (Non-Creamy layer) 46 Years
SC/ST 48 Years
Candidates working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization like Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies, and Institutes UR 33 Years + length of service given in 5 years, whichever is less.
OBC (Non-Creamy layer) 36 Years + length of service given in 5 years, whichever is less.
SC/ST 38 Years + length of service given in 5 years, whichever is lower.
Women candidates, who are widowed, divorced, or judicially separated from husbands but are not remarried. UR 38 Years
OBC (Non-Creamy layer) 41 Years
SC/ST 43 Years
 

RRB Junior Translator Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

Candidates should fulfill either of the following requirements of educational qualification to be eligible for RRB Junior Translator Exam:

Master's Degree from a recognized university, or a Bachelor's Degree in Hindi/English with English/Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject.

OR

Master's Degree from a recognized university or an equivalent in any subject other than Hindi/English, with Hindi/English as a mandatory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level.

OR

Master's Degree from a recognized university or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as a mandatory or elective subject, or one of the two as a mode of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.

And

Any recognized diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and from English to Hindi, or a minimum of two years of translating experience from Hindi to English and vice versa in any Central/Government department.

RRB Junior Translator Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for this exam. Candidates can appear as many times as they want provided they fulfill the above mentioned eligibility criteria.
