The Staff Selection Commission, held the Scientific Assistant IMD recruitment examination, to hire suitable candidates as Scientific Assistants, in the Indian Meteorological Department.

• The selection begins with the written examination, comprising 2 hours and two separate sections. 
• There are two major parts in the exam: Part I and II. The first section consists of General Topics whereas the second section is Knowledge based on the professional field. There are a total of 200 questions, of 1 mark each. Candidates need to finish the paper within the given time. The test is held online. 
• For the Computer Based Test of the recruitment, there are 25 questions set from each of the general topics sections. The number of questions for the 2nd part is 100.

SSC Scientific Assistant IMD Syllabus 2022

The CBT held for the said recruitment, as already discussed, consists of 2 parts. Part I and Part II. The sections from the 1st part are Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Grammar and Composition, and General Awareness. The 2nd part is professional knowledge bases such as Physics, Electronics, and Telecommunication. The paper is held for 2 hours.

SSC Scientific Assistant IMD Exam Pattern 2022

The written examination is for 2 hours, comprising a total of 200 questions. There are two parts i.e., part I and II in the question paper. 

• The exam is held online. 
• In part I each section has 25 questions and the questions are worth 1 mark each.
• Part 2 consists of 100 questions worth 100 marks in total. 
• For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be considered for negative marking. 
• The total time allocated for both parts is 2 hours.
