Union Public Service Commission, UPSC has declared the UPSC Prelims Result 2021 for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination. The prelims examination for the prestigious civil services was held on October 10th. Following the precedent set last year, UPSC has declared the prelims result in a span of 20 days. This year approx 5 lack candidates had appeared for the examination, out of which around a total of 9215 candidates have been shortlisted for the UPSC Civil Services 2021 Main Examination. UPSC Result is declared in PDF format on the official website of the Commission. The PDF contains the roll number of selected candidates. Candidates shortlisted in UPSC IAS Prelims would now have to appear for the Main Examination for Civil Services and Indian Forest Services 2021 exam respectively. How To Download UPSC Prelims Result


The result is made available on the official website of the Commission. The 9215 candidates who have made it through will be writing the mains examination from 7 January 2021. The following are the steps to see the official result:
  1. Go to the official website upsc.gov.in
  2. On the home page, find a direct link to the Result PDF.
  3. Click on the link provided to check your result 
  4. On the pdf that opens, search for the roll number - only the roll number of candidates shortlisted is available on the pdf.
There are a total of 712 vacancies that would be filled by means of the UPSC Civil Services 2021 examination. Following the rules, commission has invited 15 times candidates for the main examination. 

UPSC Prelims Result- What Next

Successful candidates would be required to fill the DAF - Detailed Application Form, which would be released very soon on upsc.gov.in. The UPSC Civil Services 2021 Main examination, scheduled to begin on January 7, 2022. The main examination is a week-long process. From which candidates would be called for the UPSC Interview.

UPSC has also informed candidates that marks, cut off marks and answer keys of CS (P) Examination, 2021 will be uploaded on the Commission’s website i.e. https://upsc.gov.in only after the entire process of the Civil Services Examination, 2021 is over i.e. after the declaration of the final result. That is before next year's prelims candidates should be able to view their marks.
