UGC Released National Higher Education Qualification Framework Draft 2022

The UGC has created a draught National Higher Education Qualification Framework, according to the official announcement (NHEQF). According to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF) will be developed, which will be in sync with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), in order to facilitate the integration of vocational education into higher education and to prescribe facilitative norms for issues like credit transfer, equivalence, and so on.

"In keeping with the National Education Policy and to correct the damage caused by pandemic-induced school closures, Budget2022 aims at universalizing quality education," stated Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) covers levels 1 to 4 of the NHEQF, which is an instrument for the development, categorization, and recognition of qualifications along a continuum of levels from 5 to 10. Each level is organized around established learning outcomes, which are assertions about what the learner should know, understand, and/or be able to perform after completing an approved study/learning program at a specific level. Students must possess and exhibit the graduate profile/attributes described in terms of the expected learning outcomes upon completion of the chosen program(s) of study under the NHEQF, whether they were obtained through one method of learning or a mix of modalities.
