Preliminary Written Test and Final Written Exam Syllabus

The questions in the One-Tier General Exam will be based on three topics i.e. General Awareness and General Knowledge, Reasoning, and Elementary Mathematics. Questions in the final written exam will be from General Awareness and General Knowledge, English, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, and Logical Analysis.

This is the combined syllabus for both the Preliminary and Final Exams. These topics should be thoroughly learned and practiced by the candidates in order to score the desired marks in both exams. WB Police Constable Syllabus 2022 – PMT/PET and Interview

• The PMT/PET are qualifying in nature i.e. candidates must qualify both the stages, but they will not receive any marks for the same. 

• The interview round is worth 15 marks and the questions are designed to test the suitability of the candidates for the vacancy. 
• The final selection of the candidates is based on the marks scored in the final written exam and the interview. 

West Bengal Police Constable Exam Pattern 2022

WB Police Constable Exam Pattern comprises 5 different selection stages which the candidates must qualify to be eligible for selection as WB Police Constable. The five selection stages are Preliminary Written Exam, PMT/PET, Final Written Exam, and an Interview. Preliminary Written Test

• This test comprises 100 multiple-choice objective-type questions.
• Every question is worth 1 mark. There is a negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrongly answered question.
• There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.
• The paper is set in Bengali and Nepali language.
• The time duration for the paper is 1 hour.

The preliminary test is a screening test conducted for shortlisting candidates for PMT/PET.

PMT/PET

Candidates must meet the desired physical standards to qualify the PMT and be eligible for the PET. The desired physical measurements that the candidates must possess are: -

Apart from body measurements, the board also requires the candidates to prove their physical fitness during the PET. To prove their fitness, candidates have to cover a distance of 1600m in under 6 minutes and 30 seconds by running. Shortlisted candidates will then proceed for the final written exam. In case of any concerns regarding the veracity of the measurements taken during the PMT, the same may be raised in front of the Chairman of the selection board on the same day of the test only. The decision of the WBPRB is regarded as final when it comes to PET/PMT.

Final Written Exam

After the PMT/PMT, candidates must appear for the final written exam. Let us look at different aspects of the exam pattern of the final written exam: -

• This exam comprises 85 multiple-choice objective-type questions.

A candidate who is able to clear the final exam then must through an interview and document verification process. These two are the final stages of the selection process for West Bengal Police Constable recruitment.

Interview

The final selection stage consists of a personal interview wherein a candidate’s personality traits and suitability for the job will be tested. The verification roll will also be verified at this time. Shortlisted candidates will be deputed as Police Constable with the West Bengal Police Department, subject to them clearing the medical test.
