All the stages are conducted on different dates at various centers in West Bengal. - The preliminary written test consists of 100 questions worth 1 mark each and there is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.
- Candidates who qualify for the preliminary written test must then appear for the PMT/Pet wherein their physical measurements and fitness levels will be tested. Thereafter, shortlisted candidates will proceed for the final written exam.
- The final written exam features 85 questions worth 1 mark each. There is a negative marking of ¼th mark for every wrong question.
- Candidates then finally have to appear for a personal interview worth 15 marks where their personality traits and suitability for the job will be tested. Their documents will also be verified at this stage. Candidates should score more than or equal to the WB Police Constable Cut Off in order to proceed to the next stage of the selection process.
- The final selection is based on the performance of the candidates in the final written exam and the interview. Candidates applying for posts meant for reserved category individuals should be able to produce valid documents at the time of the document verification process.

Preliminary Written Test and Final Written Exam Syllabus
The questions in the One-Tier General Exam will be based on three topics i.e. General Awareness and General Knowledge, Reasoning, and Elementary Mathematics. Questions in the final written exam will be from General Awareness and General Knowledge, English, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, and Logical Analysis.

WB Police Constable Syllabus 2022 – PMT/PET and Interview

The PMT/PET are qualifying in nature i.e. candidates must qualify both the stages, but they will not receive any marks for the same.
- The interview round is worth 15 marks and the questions are designed to test the suitability of the candidates for the vacancy.

The preliminary test is a screening test conducted for shortlisting candidates for PMT/PET.
PMT/PET
Candidates must meet the desired physical standards to qualify the PMT and be eligible for the PET. The desired physical measurements that the candidates must possess are: -

Apart from body measurements, the board also requires the candidates to prove their physical fitness during the PET. To prove their fitness, candidates have to cover a distance of 1600m in under 6 minutes and 30 seconds by running. Shortlisted candidates will then proceed for the final written exam. In case of any concerns regarding the veracity of the measurements taken during the PMT, the same may be raised in front of the Chairman of the selection board on the same day of the test only. The decision of the WBPRB is regarded as final when it comes to PET/PMT.
Final Written Exam
