The Chhattisgarh Women Commission will organize the Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra to inform women in the state about their legal and constitutional rights. THE KEY POINTS

  • In each chariot, two lawyers will ride, listening to women's complaints and providing advice and information. Women will be able to apply through these carts to the Women's Commission to get their grievances resolved.
  • On a huge LED screen, nationally acclaimed educational short films in Chhattisgarhi and Hindi will be played.
  • The state government has specifically modified the DMF policy for Mahtari Nyay Rath. With the DMF funding it recently got, the district will run Nyay Rath.
  • Every woman, whether educated or not, needs to be aware of the state women's commission, the rules and regulations that apply to them, as well as their legal rights, according to Dr Kiranmayi Nayak, head of the state women's commission.
  • Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath is starting on the occasion of Hareli Tihaar with the aim of enhancing women's legal literacy.
