Disadvantages of using fossil fuels: The oxides of nitrogen and sulphur released on burning fossil fuels reacts with water vapour in air and falls in the form of harmful acid rain. Carbon dioxide released on burning them causes greenhouse effect which leads to global warming. Carbon monoxide releases on their combustion is toxic and can be fatal. They are limited, non-renewable resources which may get exhausted soon.
