Roald Hoffmann (born Roald Safran, July 18, 1937)[2] is a Polish-American theoretical chemist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1981. He has also published plays and poetry. He is the Frank H. T. Rose Professor Emeritus of Humanities at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
