Functions of bones: (i) They provide place for attachment of muscles and help in movement and locomotion. (ii) Bone marrow is the site of manufacture of blood cells. (iii) Bones provide protection to the internal organs. (iv) The long bones of the limbs serve the weight-bearing function. (v) They act as the depot of calcium and phosphorus.
