Where are auxins synthesized in plants? Mention any two of their functions
Auxins are produced in the growing shoot apices and root apices. Functions of auxins are as follows : (i) Auxins control apical dominance, i.e., they suppress the growth of lateral buds into branches. (ii) They help to prevent fruit and leaf drop at early stages but promote the abscission of older mature leaves and fruits.
