The taxon is “a unit of classification of organisms which can be recognized and assigned a definite category at any level of classification” eg. order primates and carnivores are included in mammals. Various classes eg. Pisces, animals, reptilia aves and Mammalia from phylum Chordata. All phyla are included in the kingdom Animalia.
