Give an account of the alimentary canal of frogs.
Alimentary canal of frog: It is a short tube starting from mouth to cloaca. The mouth opens into the buccopharyngeal cavity. It has many maxillary teeth as the margin of the upper jaw. Vomerine teeth lie on the floor of this cavity. The tongue is bilobed and muscular. It is used to capture the prey. Gullet opens into the esophagus which is distended into the stomach. The stomach follows the small and large intestine. The rectum opens into the cloaca. The liver and pancreas are digestive canals.
