Explanation The segmentally arranged coiled tubules that help to remove toxin and waste metabolic products are known as nephridia. These are the excretory organ in annelids, arthropods, and many more. The primary functions of nephridia are as follow: Nephridia help maintain the body fluids and a balance between the consumption and excretion of electrolytes and water. While maintaining the body fluids, it also collects extra fluid from the coelomic chamber. Nephridia deliver the waste through nephridiopore to the surface of the body wall and then into the digestive tubes. Final answer The primary functions of nephridia include the maintenance of body fluid by balancing the electrolytes. Nephridia also help in excretion of the metabolic toxins. It also helps in the collection of extra fluid from the coelomic chamber during osmoregulation.
