Explain the process of inspiration under normal conditions.

During inspiration, the air with a higher partial pressure of oxygen moves into the lungs. The oxygen replaces the carbon dioxide in the bloodstream, and the carbon dioxide moves from the bloodstream into the lungs and then into the atmosphere through expiration. The oxygen in the alveoli goes into the bloodstream and binds with hemoglobin.
