The retina is the innermost layer consisting of three layers of neural cells called ganglion cells, bipolar cells, and photoreceptor cells. The photoreceptor cells are of two types, rods and cones. Cones are concerned with the daylight vision and color vision whereas the twilight vision is concerned with the rods. The light enters through cornea and passes through the lens falling on the retina and the information is passed onto the brain via optic nerve and images of objects are formed.
