Write short notes on the following: (g) Cochlea
The cochlea is a spiral and hollow structure that contains three fluid-filled canals. It also contains the organ of Corti located in the middle cochlear canal having hair cells (mechanoreceptors) on its basilar membrane. Cochlea houses the sensory system for hearing only.
