By looking at a plant externally can you tell whether a plant is C3 or C4? Why and how?
One can't distinguish whether or not a plant is C3 or C4 through looking at its leaves and different morphological features externally. Unlike C3 plant life, the leaves of C4 plant life have a unique anatomy known as Kranz anatomy and this difference can most effective be found on the mobile level. For example, despite the fact that wheat and maize are grasses, wheat is a C3 plant, at the same time as maize is a C4 plant.
