What is intrafascicular cambium?

Intrafascicular cambium isthe primary meristem. It develops from the procambium of the stem apex. It is located inside the open vascular bundles between phloem and xylem patches. During secondary growth, the derivatives are only secondary phloem and secondary xylem.
