Distinguish between sexual and asexual reproduction. Why is vegetative reproduction also considered a type of asexual reproduction?

Vegetative reproduction refers to the production of progeny by any vegetative propagule (rhizome, tubers, suckers etc.) without gamete formation and fertilization of male and female gametes. Since gamete formation and fertilization are key processes of sexual reproduction; vegetative mode is considered an asexual one.
