What are autoimmune diseases? Give two examples?
Autoimmune diseases are those in which the immune system of the body gets disturbed ad starts to attack the healthy cells. Immunity is based on the ability to differentiate foreign organisms from self-cells. Sometimes the immune system may go off the track & turns against self-antigen and elicit immunity. Examples of autoimmune diseases are Rheumatoid arthritis and Myasthenia gravis.
