Higher organisms have resorted to sexual reproduction in spite of its complexity because, at the same time, sexual reproduction provides two-fold advantages: Here genetic recombination, interaction, etc. take place which causes variations in the offspring thus also form raw materials for evolution. The offspring adapt more comfortably and quickly to the changes in the environmental conditions.
