Features of cardiac muscles Cardiac muscles are involuntary muscles. They are involved in continuous rhythmic contraction and relaxation. Cardiomyocytes or the cardiac cells are uninucleate, cylindrical, and elongated. Cardiac muscles display faint cross-striations which do not get fatigued under normal circumstances.
