Option (c) is correct Natural gas is primarily composed of methane. It absorbs the earth's outgoing heat radiation and thus contributes to the greenhouse effect, making it a green house gas. Methane lasts for about ten years in the atmosphere. In comparison to carbon dioxide, it is twenty times more effective at trapping heat.
