Principally there are three printing processes—(relief, intaglio and planography. Elaborate.
Printing processes are used to transfer or spread relevant facts, information or knowledge globally. The three main printing processes are: Relief- The area that is to be printed stands right above the non-printing area. In this process, the ink is first applied to the raised printing area in such a way that the non-printing depressed area remains untouched and clear on the printing surface. Intaglio- The printing area is chopped into a flat surface and is specifically made depressed from the non-printing area. An equal amount of pressure is applied to the paper which has a soft padding. The printing results are very fine in this type of printing process. Planography- In the planography, the printing and the non-printing areas have virtually no distinguished in height. It is a combination of water and oil-based ink resist technique.
