A graphic designer must be cautious of the colour he/she uses while delivering content. Colours have meanings which can be interpreted differently due to cultural differences. Each colour has many identities, for example, red is perceived as danger, as love, a code for violence and accidents based on different contexts. In the same way colours are perceived differently in a socio cultural context. In India colours are perceived in both political and in religious contexts. Black is associated with, negativity and evil. Blue is associated with Lord Krishna. Red is associated with fear, and is also considered a symbol of fertility, women apply vermilion on their foreheads, showcasing their married status. Green symbolizes nature and therefore expression of God himself. Saffron is considered sacred and is used by monks.
