4. What is a bearing, and where is it used?
A bearing is a machine element that helps smooth motion between two moving parts by reducing the friction and constraining relative motion only to the desired portion. Nearly all the industries that use machinery and equipment have bearings in them. The most common example where bearings can be seen is in bicycles.
