Pneumatic system and Hydraulic system are both applications of fluid power, but there are some very significant differences like: In Hydraulic, fluid is used for the working of the system. Whereas, in pneumatics, air or gas is used for the working of the system. The hydraulic system produces more power. The pneumatic system produces less power. As the Hydraulic system has high pressure, it isn’t easy to operate. Whereas the Pneumatic system is easy to operate. Hydraulic systems require high maintenance. The pneumatic system is easy to maintain with minimal cost. Working fluid in hydraulic systems is costly as compared to the Pneumatic system.
