What do you understand about the Panchayati Raj system?
The Panchayati Raj system is a process through which people participate in their own government. This is a three tier system-at Village level, at Block level and at District level. The Panchayati Raj system was adopted by the Government of India which was based on recommendation of a committee headed by Balwant Rai Mehta. First of all Gandhiji advocated the thoughts the Panchayati Raj system. Rajasthan was the first State who implemented this system in the state.
