The main endocrine glands of the human body are the pineal gland (or pineal body), the hypophysis (or pituitary), the thyroid, the parathyroids, the endocrine part of the pancreas, the adrenals and the gonads (testicles or ovaries). Other organs like the kidneys, the heart and the placenta also have endocrine functions.
