Option B.The increase in girth or the diameter of the stem/root is called secondary growth. In dicot stem lateral or vascular cambium is responsible for secondary growth. These cambial strips are present in between xylem and phloem, forming a vascular bundle that is conjoint, colateral and open. The cambial strips of the vascular bundle add secondary xylem and phloem on either sides.
