Which ocean is also known as the Southern Ocean?
The Antarctic Ocean is also referred to as the Southern Ocean. Until recently, the Antarctic Ocean was regarded to be a phase of the other foremost oceans, as it was once absolutely formed from parts of the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans. In the year 2000, however, it was officially named the ‘Southern Ocean’.
