An African elephant’s tusks are between 1.8–2.4 metres (6–8 feet) in size and weigh about 20–45 kilograms (50–100 pounds). Those of an Asian male are only about 1.5 metres (5 feet) in size and weigh about 30 kilograms (70 pounds).
