The chimaera or ghost shark belongs to the equal household as sharks, and its skeleton is also made of cartilage. Chimaeras have long tails, which they use to prod the muddy seabed for shellfish and different small prey. Most chimaeras have a toxic spine on the top part of their body that they use to defend themselves. They have three pairs of tooth plates: two pairs in their higher jaw and one pair in their decrease jaw.
