Option C. Amino acids are the building blocks of all proteins. As more amino acids are added the protein chain tends to fold upon itself in a characteristic way. This characteristic of a protein is called tertiary structure. The form produced with the aid of using folding is the tertiary shape. Primary shape is the series wherein the amino acids are joined. Secondary struc- ture is any repetition of the number one shape. Quaternary shape does not exist.
