Union Home Ministry has extended the Armed Forces Special power Act(AFSPA) in which state for six months? [A] Assam [B] Nagaland [C] Mizoram [D] Arunachal Pradesh
The Union Home Ministry extended the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) in the whole of Nagaland for another six months on December 30, 2021. Both the Central and State governments have powers to issue a notification under Section 3 of the Act. It gives unbridled powers to the armed forces to kill anyone acting in contravention of law, arrest and search any premises without a warrant.
In November 2016, Government of India has extended AFSPA in three districts of Arunachal Pradesh- Tirap, Changlang and Longding. The period has further been extended by another 6 months in above three districts of Arunachal Pradesh in April, 2018.
