What is known as the Reformation?
In the 16th century, a group of movements started in several places, which came to be known as reformation. These movements were led by Christians who questioned and protested against the authoritative side of the church. Their ultimate target was the pope, the highest authority in the church. This led to a rift between Christians who were loyal to the pope and the ones who were protesting against the church. Reformation is a common name for a group of movements that occurred in the 16th century. These religious movements were led by Christians from several countries.
