Explanation The 1791 constitution of France gave the criteria to vote to the French public. According to these criteria, men are only allowed to vote. The eligibility for men should be that they should have attained the age of 25 years and should be paying a tax which is equal to their 3 days of labor. These gave the status of the men as active citizens and were eligible to vote. The men whose age was 25 years and above and who paid the taxes were eligible for the right to vote.
