Explanation It is estimated that approximately 8.7 million species are found on the Earth that is unique as they have different habitats, structure and composition. Classification is the major aspect of taxonomy in which these organisms are classified according to the standard taxonomical system. It becomes easy for scientists to conduct researches on the organisms by comparing characteristics like genetic material composition, evolution, habitats and embryonic development. It also helps in the easy identification of the fossils and to comprehend about the hierarchy by comparing them with existing species.
