Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) enable couples to have children through special methods. The fertilisation outside the body in almost similar conditions as that in the body is called in vitro fertilisation (IVF). It is followed by embryo transfer. In this, ova collected from the female and sperms collected from the male are induced to form zygote in the laboratory under stimulated conditions. The early embryos upto 8 blastomeres are then transferred into the fallopian tube called zygote intra fallopian transfer (ZIFT).The embryos with more than 8 blastomeres are then transferred into the uterus is called intra-uterine development (IUT).
