Chromosomal theory of inheritance was proposed by Walter Sutton and Theodor Boveri in 1902. According to this theory chromosomes are carrier of hereditary information. The genes on the chromosome segregate and assort independently during transmission from one to next generation. Sutton and Boveri proposed chromosomal theory of inheritance in 1902.
