Roles played by ribosome during translation- The small subunit aids in the initiation of translation. The two sites present in the large subunit binds the tRNA which brings the amino acids close enough to form a peptide bond between them. Ribosome can even act as catalyst in the peptide bond formation, Ex- ribozyme(23rRNA) in bacteria.
