Why is the Human Genome project called a mega project?
The human genome project is called a megaproject because it was a large scale project involving scientists from across the globe. The requirements for the projects were massive which included a large amount of money (9 billion US dollars approximately), time (about 13 years) and advanced technological support. The data generated was also massive in amount and required a lot of technical support for storage and analysis.
