Describe briefly the following: (a) Origin of replication
The origin of replication is known to be the site of DNA sequence where DNA replication undergoes initiation.Larger DNA sequences may have many sites for origin of replication but the smaller DNA sequences such as that of bacteria or viruses, only one origin of replication is there.The origin of replication not only provide sites for replication but it also helps in the determination of plasmid compatibility with another plasmid present within the same bacterial cell.
