Explanation A Tissue is a group of cells having a common origin and similar functions. For example nervous tissues in animals are made up of various nerve cells called ‘neurons'. These neurones combine to form a nervous tissue and several nervous tissues combine to form certain organs like the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Similarly, blood is called ‘fluid connective tissue'. It is composed of various cells like red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets etc., all suspended in a fluid matrix called plasma. Final answer A tissue is a mass of cells, in close proximity, organized to perform one or more specific functions.
