BSF Constable Tradesman eligibility criteria is defined under the following parameters:

BSF Constable Tradesman Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.

BSF Constable Tradesman Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

The minimum age limit is 18 years while the maximum age limit is 23 years. There is age relaxation provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories. The details are as given below:

Candidates of Jammu & Kashmir who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J&K during the period from Is Jan 1980 to 31. Dec, 1989. The person claiming relaxation under this category should produce the certificate to the effect that he/she had been domiciled in the State of J&K re during the period from Is Jan 1980 to 31 Dec 1989 G from either the District Magistrate within whose in jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided or from in any other authority designated on his behalf by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

Upto 5 years in upper age limit

Children and dependent family members of victims KILLED in the 1984 hots and communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat

Children means (a) son (including adopted son) or

(b) daughter (including adopted daughter) Dependent family member means (a) spouse or Go (b) children or 

(c) brother or sister in the case of ins unmarried victim who was wholly dependent on in that victim at the time of his getting killed in the riots would be eligible.

In order to be eligible for upper age relaxation in this category, the applicant should produce a certificate to that effect from the concerned District Collector District Magistrate where the victim was killed.

BSF Constable Tradesman Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

Candidates should have passed class 10th and additionally should have 
  • Work Experience of 2 years at a particular job.
  • Or should definitely have the 1-year certificate course from the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or definitely a two-year diploma from ITI.

Visual correction of any kind is allowed; even via glasses

In the case of a left-handed person, the right eye is the better eye & vice versa. 

Binocular vision is essential. 

(b) The candidate should not have a knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein/ any kind of squint in the eyes. Should also possess CP Ill BY ISIHARA vision & must be mentally & bodily fit & free from any physical defects which can probably interfere with the efficiency of his duties.

(c) Regarding tattoos present on various part of the body:

  • Content: Being a secular country, religious sentiments of people demand to be respected & therefore, tattoos representing religious symbols/figures with names, as takes place in India should be permitted.
  • Location: Tattoos present on traditional sites of the body like the inner part of the forearm or only the left forearm, called the dorsum of the hands is to be allowed.
  • Size: Size should definitely be less than 1/4 of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of our body.

Physical Standard: The candidates should definitely be fulfilling the physical measurements as decided by the recruitment body of the BSF.
