Many freedom fighters were killed in the process of gaining independence for India. It represents their enormous sacrifice. Previously, the flag was decorated with a variety of patterns and colours. On July 22, 1947, the constituent Assembly chose the first shape of the flag that we see today. It was designed by Pingali Venkayya and is made up of three equal strips of saffron, white, and green. The display and use of the national flag is governed by the Indian Flag Code. The "Tiranga" national flag depicts India as a sovereign nation.

What exactly is the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign?

There are numerous events and efforts planned to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. One such endeavour is Har Ghar Tiranga. The Government of India initiated this programme. Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah, who oversees all Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav activities, has approved this programme. On Friday, July 22, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this campaign and requested Indians to help make it a huge success. What should I remember to avoid displaying the National Flag incorrectly?

• The National Flag shall not be shown reversed; that is, the saffron band shall not be the bottom band. 
• A torn or dishevelled National Flag shall not be exhibited. 
• The National Flag shall not be dipped in tribute to any person or thing. 
• No other flag or bunting shall be placed higher than, above, or side by side with the National Flag, nor shall any object, including flowers, garlands, or insignia, be placed on or above the flagmast from which the National Flag is flown. 
• The National Flag may not be used as a festoon, rosette, bunting, or in any other way for decoration.
• The National Flag is not permitted to touch the ground, floor, or trail in the water. 
• The National Flag shall not be exhibited or fastened in any way that may cause it to be damaged. 
• The National Flag should not be flown from the same masthead (top part of a flagpole) as another flag or flags. 
• The National Flag shall not be draped over a speaker's platform or used to cover a speaker's desk. 
• The National Flag may not be used as part of a costume, uniform, or accessory of any kind that is worn below a person's waist, nor may it be embroidered or printed on pillows, handkerchiefs, napkins, undergarments, or any other dress material.

The Goal of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

The major goal of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign is to strengthen our bond with the national flag. Previously, the flag was only used for institutional functions and ceremonial occasions. People will be able to interact with the flag on a personal level by raising flags in their homes and institutions. This initiative will assist to raise awareness of the significance of our flag. This event can also be viewed as an homage to all freedom warriors. The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign would help to instil patriotism and nationalism in Indian citizens. It is also a good method to demonstrate our national commitment. As a result, our national flag will be held in higher regard.This campaign would also serve to remind Indian citizens of their duty to the country.

India has achieved significant development in every sphere since its independence 75 years ago.
