History of the Independence day

The British kept us under their control for almost two centuries. And because of these tyrants, the nation's citizens suffered greatly. Until we are able to fight back against British officials, they will treat us like slaves. Under the direction of our leaders Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Chandra Shekhar Azad, and Bhagat Singh, we fought valiantly and heroically for our independence. Some of these leaders opt for violence, while others go the peaceful route. However, the ultimate goal of these was to expel the British from the nation. And the long-awaited wish came true on August 15, 1947.

Why Do We Celebrate the Independence day?

We commemorate Independence Day to relive the occasion and to appreciate the spirit of freedom and independence. Remembering the sacrifices and lives we have sacrificed during this conflict is another justification. In addition, we observed it as a reminder that we had to work hard for our independence. Aside from that, the holiday stirs up our inner nationalist. The younger generation is aware of the challenges of those who lived during that period along with the celebration.

Activities on Independence day

Despite being a national holiday, the population of the nation takes tremendous pleasure in celebrating it. On this day, numerous little and large events are held by schools, offices, societies, and colleges. The Indian Prime Minister hosts the raising of the national flag each year at Red Fort. 21 shots are fired in salute to the event. The big event is about to begin. An army parade follows this event later on. Cultural activities, fancy dress contests, speech and debate competitions, and quiz contests are all organised by the school and colleges.

The significance of Independence Day

Regarding Indian Independence, every Indian has a different opinion. While it represents the pride and prestige of the nation to young people, it serves as a reminder of the protracted fight for others. Above all, we can sense a sense of patriotism throughout the nation.

Everywhere in the nation, Indians celebrate Independence Day with a sense of nationalism and patriotism. Every citizen celebrates this day with a sense of joy and pride in the diversity and cohesion of the populace. It's a celebration of both the nation's independence and its diversity as a whole.
