SSB Constable Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Candidate must be An Indian citizen or

i)A Subject from Nepal or

ii)A Subject From Bhutan or

iii) A Tibetian who came over India before 1st January 1962 who was intended to settle in India Permanently.

iv)The candidates who are migrated from Pakistan, Srilanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia Ethiopia, Vietnam, Burma with the intention of settling in India permanently.

SSB Constable Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

The age limit for various posts is as follows:

  • Constable (Driver) – candidate must be in the age bracket of 21 to 27 Years.
  • Constable (Lab Assistant) – candidate must be in the age bracket of 18 to 25 Years.
  • Constable (Veterinary) – candidate must be in the age bracket of18 to 25 Years.
  • Constable (Aya) – candidate must be in the age bracket of18 to 25 Years.
  • Constable (Carpenter, Plumber, Painter) – candidate must be in the age bracket of 18 to 25 Years.
  • Constable (Others) – candidate must be in the age bracket of 18 to 23 Years.

There is relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category candidates. The details of upper age limit relaxation are as given below:

SSB Constable Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

The post-wise required educational qualifications are as follows:

Educational qualification

Constable (Driver)

Must be 10th passed or equivalent from a recognized board and possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License

Constable (Lab Assistant) 

Candidates should have 10th passed as a minimum qualification and two years work experience in respective trade Should have a certificate in Lab Assistant Course

Constable (Veterinary) 

Candidates should have matriculation in science passed as a minimum qualification and two years work experience in respective trade.

Constable (Aya)

i) Matriculation with science from a recognised Board or Institution.

 

ii) Possessing the first Aid Examination pass certificate from Red Cross Society or should be trained Dai.

 

iii) One-year experience in a relevant field. i) Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board.

 

Constable (Carpenter, Plumber, Painter and Other) 

i) Matriculation from a recognised Board or Institution.

 

ii) Two years work experience in respective trade; or iii) One year certificate course from a recognised Industrial Training Institute or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the respective trade; or

 

iv) Two years Diploma from a recognised Industrial Training Institute in the respective trade or similar trade; and

 

v) Must qualify a trade test.

Constable(Cook, washerman, barber, safai wala, water carrier, waiter, tailor, gardener and cobbler)

a) Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised board with

 

i) Two years work experience in respective trades, or

 

ii) One year certificate course from a recognised Industrial Training Institute or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the trade; or 

iii) Two years Diploma from recognised Industrial Training Institute in the trade or similar trade 

 

(b) Must qualify a trade test.

 

Note:-Multi-skilled candidates will be given preference.

 

SSB Constable Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for SSB Constable Exam. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want provided they fulfill the above mentioned eligibility criteria.
